Bitwise predicts Coinbase will surpass Charles Schwab by 2025
Crypto asset manager Bitwise has forecasted that Coinbase could become the most valuable brokerage in the world, surpassing Charles Schwab by 2025.
This prediction highlights Coinbase's growing influence in the financial sector, particularly in cryptocurrency trading and investment.
Bitwise experts cite Schwab's $7 trillion in assets as a benchmark for Coinbase's potential growth.
They note that Coinbase serves as the parent company for U.S.-based ETFs and is utilized by the U.S. Department of Justice for custodial services.
The report emphasises three key growth drivers for Coinbase: its stablecoin operations centered around USDC (CRYPTO:USDC), the Ethereum-based (CRYPTO:ETH) scaling solution Base, and its staking and custody services.
“As we entered 2023, investors could buy Coinbase shares for $35. Today, they are trading at $344, nearly a tenfold increase. We believe it can go even higher,” stated Bitwise.
They predict that Coinbase shares could exceed $700 by 2025, supported by significant inflows into its stablecoin business, which has increased by $162 million year-to-date.
Coinbase's innovations within the Ethereum ecosystem and its growing staking and custody services are expected to enhance its revenue quality and market share.
