Musk's lawyer stated that the SEC demanded Musk to accept a settlement within 48 hours, otherwise he will face multiple charges
The letter shared by Musk on the X platform shows that his lawyer, Alex Spiro, wrote to SEC Chairman Gary Gensler yesterday, revealing that the SEC demanded Musk accept a settlement involving monetary compensation within 48 hours or face multiple charges.
According to the content of the letter, SEC staff stated that this request came from higher instructions. Alex Spiro pointed out that this is the latest action after years of investigation and six years of harassment against Musk by the SEC. When the SEC recently subpoenaed Alex Spiro for testimony and threatened to send a process server, it was explicitly rejected.
The letter questioned whether this move by the SEC was not seeking truth but an improper crackdown on Musk and his associates. It asked whether these actions were instructed by the chairman of the SEC or from directives from The White House.
