Bitwise predicts Bitcoin will reach $200,000 by 2025
Asset management firm Bitwise has made ten optimistic predictions for the cryptocurrency market in 2025, forecasting that Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC) could reach $200,000 by the end of the year.
In its report, Bitwise anticipates record highs for Bitcoin, Ethereum (CRYPTO:ETH), and Solana (CRYPTO:SOL).
While Bitcoin and Solana have recently achieved new peaks, Ethereum has lagged behind despite its total value locked (TVL) climbing to its highest level since 2022, indicating a potential rebound.
Solana's growth is attributed to increased meme coin activity on its network, which has generated several bullish cycles throughout the year.
“The media wants to portray crypto’s political efforts in a negative light. It’s actually how democracy works,” commented Matt Hougan, Chief Investment Officer at Bitwise.
Bitwise also predicts that Coinbase will be added to the SP 500 index and that MicroStrategy will enter the Nasdaq-100.
These developments would significantly enhance crypto exposure for U.S. investors and have already begun to take shape.
Bloomberg ETF analysts expect MicroStrategy to be included in the Nasdaq-100 by December 23, with an announcement anticipated soon.
ETF analyst Eric Balchunas noted on X that “MSTR is likely to be added to $QQQ on 12/23,” suggesting a potential replacement of Moderna in the index.
MicroStrategy’s stock price has surged nearly 450% year-to-date, further solidifying its position among the top 100 public U.S. firms as Bitcoin approaches the $100,000 milestone.
Additionally, Bitwise forecasts a doubling in the number of countries holding Bitcoin as part of their reserves.
This aligns with recent proposals from Russian lawmakers for a national Bitcoin reserve and similar discussions in Canada.
In the U.S., there is growing optimism for a Bitcoin reserve initiative, particularly following promises made during Trump's election campaign.
The report also predicts that stablecoin assets could double to reach $400 billion, bolstered by forthcoming U.S. legislation.
With Ripple (CRYPTO:XRP) receiving approval from New York regulators to launch its RLUSD (CRYPTO:RLUSD) stablecoin, significant growth in the U.S. stablecoin market appears imminent.
At the time of reporting, the Bitcoin price was $96,083.32.
