President-elect Donald Trump chosen David Sacks, a member of the so-called "PayPal mafia," as "crypto czar." David Sacks will work on the regulatory framework for digital currencies.
In addition, he will head the presidential council on science and new technologies to ensure the protection of free speech online and counter censorship by big tech companies.
According to Donald Trump, David will lead the administration's policy on artificial intelligence and cryptocurrencies, two areas critical to America's future competitiveness.
Let us recall that David Sacks is one of the co-founders and general partner of the venture fund Craft Ventures. His portfolio includes such structures as BitGo, Bitwise and Lightning Labs. In March 2018, Sacks also joined the board of directors of the MultiCoin Capital fund, a major investor in the crypto market.
David Sacks is also a member of the “PayPal mafia,” an informal association of former founders of the payment company who later became founders and owners of several large funds and companies, including Tesla Motors, LinkedIn, Palantir, SpaceX, YouTube, and Yelp.
