I. Project introduction

Movement is a Modularization framework aimed at providing developers with the ability to build and deploy Move-based infrastructure, applications, and blockchain. Through its innovative products and services, the team enables non-Move protocol developers to utilize the high performance and security of the Move programming language without writing Move code.

The first version of Movement, M1, redefines the L1 framework as a Modularization infrastructure that combines vertical composition and horizontal scalability. It achieves compatibility with Solidity, connects EVM with Move's liquidity ecosystem, and provides developers with a customized application chain for Plug and Play.

By combining the security and efficiency features of Move language with the ecological fluidity of EVM, Movement has created an innovative technology bridge across ecosystems, helping developers reduce development barriers and fully unleash the potential of blockchain applications.

II. Project highlights

1. Cross-ecological compatibility

Movement achieves compatibility between EVM and Move dual ecosystems, supporting Aptos, Sui, and EVM users to operate on a unified platform. Through the SDK, Solidity scripts can be automatically converted into Move opcodes, reducing the technical threshold for developers and achieving multi-ecosystem collaboration.

2. Modularization design and scalability

The core component of Movement, M1, provides an efficient and scalable consensus layer, gradually evolving into a decentralized sorter that supports Rollup and shared sorting services. M2, based on Move + EVM's zero-knowledge Layer 2, provides an efficient and secure smart contract platform suitable for large-scale financial transactions and decentralized applications.

3. Innovative power builder

Movement SDK integrates MoveVM and EVM functions, allowing developers to use existing Solidity smart contracts without additional learning of Move, improving development efficiency and application scalability. It also supports custom adaptation and data availability services, enhancing interoperability with other blockchain networks.

4. Industry-leading performance

Movement provides developers with performance comparable to top public blockchains (such as Aptos and Sui) by optimizing the module packaging technology and high TPS performance of Move language. Combined with the liquidity of EVM, it helps to create a next-generation blockchain network that combines high performance and security.

III. Market value expectations

Movement ($MOVE) is a Modularization blockchain framework dedicated to promoting the rapid development of blockchain applications and infrastructure by being compatible with both EVM and Move ecosystems. With its high performance, security, and developer-friendly tools, Movement provides a platform for cross-ecosystem collaboration, attracting a wide range of developers and users. The current unit price of $MOVE is $0.640, with a total supply of 10 billion MOVE and an initial circulation of about 22%.
To better evaluate the market potential of Movement, we can compare it with other outstanding blockchain projects, especially leading projects such as Omni Network ($OMNI), EigenLayer ($EIGEN), and Celestia ($TIA).

Market value comparison with expectations
Based on the current market environment and the long-term potential of the Movement project, we can speculate on its market value growth space, as follows:
Benchmarking Omni Network ($OMNI)
If $MOVE can reach the market value level of Omni Network, the unit price of $MOVE will rise to $3.91, which means an increase of about 513%.
Benchmarking EigenLayer ($EIGEN)
If $MOVE can approach the market value of EigenLayer, the price of $MOVE will rise to $3.57, an increase of about 457%.
Benchmarking Celestia ($TIA)
If the market value of $MOVE can be comparable to Celestia, the price of $MOVE may rise to $8.76, an increase of 1260%.

IV. Economics of $MOVE Tokens

MOVE is the native token of the Movement network, with its economic model designed around the stability and long-term development of the ecosystem. MOVE tokens will be widely used in multiple scenarios, including staking rewards, gas fee payments, decentralized governance, etc., to promote the economic security and ecological vitality of the entire network.

1. Total amount and distribution of tokens

Total Supply: 10 billion MOVE

Initial circulation: about 22%

Token distribution:

Ecosystems and communities: 40%

Used to promote community development and ecological construction, it is the largest part of the allocation, reflecting the project's emphasis on the community.

Foundation: 10%

Used to support long-term project operations and ecological maintenance.

Initial Airdrop: 10%

At a high level in recent projects, aiming to attract users and motivate early participants.

Early contributors: 17.5%

Motivate the team and partners who provide core support for the project.

Early investors: 22.5%

Attract strategic investors and provide financial support for the project.

Unlocking mechanism: MOVE tokens will be gradually unlocked within 60 months, with a lock-up period spanning a complete cryptocurrency "4-year cycle". This longer unlock time can force the team to maintain long-termism and focus on continuous ecological construction.

2. Token features

MOVE tokens have the following core functions in the Movement network:

Economic security and pledge

MOVE tokens will be used for network staking. Once the public mainnet is launched and the staking function is enabled, validators can provide economic security for the network by staking MOVE. Active validators can also receive MOVE staking rewards, thus forming an Incentive Mechanism.

Gas Charge Payment

All transactions on the Movement network require payment of Gas fees through MOVE, a portion of which is used to pay for transaction settlement costs on Ethereum. At the same time, future networks built on the Move Stack also plan to use MOVE as a Gas Payment Instrument.

Governance and decentralization

MOVE holders can propose governance proposals and participate in voting to decide on adjustments to network parameters and promote decentralized governance of the ecosystem.

Ecological functions

MOVE will serve as a network-native asset, providing multiple uses for applications built on Movement, including:

Provide liquidity

Used as collateral

Payment services

3. Mechanism optimization and practical design

Optimization of initial airdrop: A 10% initial airdrop ratio has certain advantages in similar projects, helping to attract more early users and developers.

Investor mechanism: The team and investors cannot participate in the pledge in the early stage, avoiding the situation of "pledging rewards and selling back", demonstrating the project's commitment to long-term development.

MOVE tokens will be launched through the TGE (Token Generation Event) on the Ethereum mainnet, allowing holders to cross-chain to the Movement Network after the mainnet goes live. This design not only improves the liquidity of tokens, but also ensures the depth of participation of holders, promoting the sustainable development of the network economy.

V. Team and financing

Team members

The two co-founders of Movement Labs are Rushi Manche and Cooper Scanlon, both of whom graduated from Vanderbilt University. The core members of the team include engineering director, strategic director, and BD growth director, with rich experience in blockchain development and ecosystem construction.

Financing background

April 2024: Completed Series A financing of 38 million USD, led by Polychain Capital, with participation from Binance Labs, Hack VC, dao5, etc.

September 2023: Completed $3.40 million Pre-Seed financing with participation from Varys Capital, DAO5, and Blizzard The Avalanche Fund.

VI. Risk Warning

1. The development of Movement requires a large-scale ecosystem support, but the current Move language ecosystem is relatively new, and the number of developers and applications is limited compared with the Ethereum ecosystem. If the ecosystem construction speed is insufficient, it may lead to the loss of users and developers.

2. Although Movement provides dual ecological compatibility of EVM and Move, the stability and long-term support of its compatibility solution still need to be validated by the market and developers due to the fragmented nature of Move languages (especially Aptos Move and Sui Move).
