On communication TASS, United Russia faction deputy Boris Gladkikh wrote an appeal to Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, in which he proposed depriving Russians engaged in cryptocurrency mining of preferential electricity tariffs.

He believes that it is necessary to make a number of changes to the legislative acts in relation to citizens who have the right to a preferential tariff for electricity. As the parliamentarian noted, recently there has been a sharp increase in the demand of Russians for cryptocurrency and mining, which is carried out using preferential tariffs for electricity.

The deputy is convinced that such practices not only cause economic losses for the state, but also lay the foundation for negative social consequences. The deputy did not specify what consequences he was talking about in his address.

It is worth recalling that the limit on electricity for individual miners is set by the government at 6 thousand kWh per month. In some regions, this limit can be fully “covered” by the so-called preferential tariff.

It is not yet known what response the Deputy Prime Minister gave to the MP's appeal. Perhaps it will be provided in the very near future.
