Tether stops issuing EURT due to European regulatory environment
Tether announced that it will stop supporting its Euro stablecoin EUR₮ and will stop processing new coin requests by 2022. This decision is based on the increasingly complex regulatory environment of the European stablecoin market, and Tether will prioritize supporting new projects such as the MiCAR-compliant stablecoins EURQ and USDQ, which are being launched in partnership with Quantoz Payments. Tether will also provide efficient compliance support for asset issuance, including stablecoins, through its technology platform Hadron. Existing EUR₮ users must complete redemption operations by November 27, 2025.
