MicroStrategy (MSTR.O) up 2.9 per cent

U.S. stocks opened with the Dow up 0.61 per cent, the SP 500 up 0.58 per cent and the Nasdaq up 0.75 per cent. MicroStrategy (MSTR.O) rose 2.9 per cent after news it bought more than 50,000 bitcoins for $5.4 billion last week; the rest of the cryptocurrency concepts were broadly higher, with Coinbase (COIN.O) up 1.5 per cent.
