Japanese public investment firm Metaplanet has announced that it has acquired another 142 bitcoins worth over $11,3 million. The firm currently holds over 1142 BTC on its cryptocurrency balance sheet, which is valued at around $104,54 million at current prices. This makes Metaplanet one of the largest corporate holders of the flagship currency in Asia and 20th in the global ranking.

Metaplanet's BTC Acquisition Statement
According to Metaplanet, from July 1 to September 30, 2024, the yield Bitcoin - of the company's assets amounted to 41,7%. In the period from October 1 to November 19, the figure increased to 186,9%.
The company financed its latest Bitcoin acquisition by issuing $11,3 million in one-year, regular bonds at an annual interest rate of 0,36%.
Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed Metaplanet has begun investing in Bitcoin in April 2024 and has been actively buying up BTC in recent months. In October, the investment company raised about $66 million, which it invested in the leading cryptocurrency.
Metaplanet's approach to investing in Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset is justified. Since the beginning of the year, the company's shares have risen by 1146%, despite the general decline in the market, when the Nikkei 225 index fell by 1,09%.
