BlackRock's Bitcoin Trust Options Surpass $2 Billion in Notional Exposure
Options linked to BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) exceeded $2 billion in notional exposure, with the launch receiving approval for just 25,000 contracts as a position limit. Industry standards suggest that bitcoin ETF options should have seen around 400,000 contracts, according to Jeff Park, Bitwise's head of alpha strategies. The options went live on Nasdaq on Tuesday, giving them a one-day head start over some competitors that begin trading on Wednesday. Another Bitcoin-linked product has seen success, following the trend of rising stablecoin liquidity and Bitcoin transactions.
