The GMT team will launch the voting platform BurnGMT on November 21, initiating the GMT burning plan

During the STEPN official Townhall event on November 19, GMT team co-founder Yawn announced that the team has successfully repurchased approximately 600 million GMT tokens. These tokens mainly come from the unlocked shares of early investors and advisors, as well as some tokens allocated by the team. Yawn revealed that this batch of repurchased GMT will be donated to the ecological fund managed by GMT DAO.

The voting platform BurnGMT developed by the ecological fund will officially launch on November 21. Users will decide whether to burn the 600 million GMT tokens repurchased by the team during November 21, 2024 to January 20, 2025 through locking up their GMT tokens. In addition, users who participate in voting will also receive a total of one hundred million additional GMT rewards as support for their first participation in community voting.
