Senior Trump Advisor: This term's performance by Trump can be called "the strongest in history", the key to victory or defeat lies in the voting rate
On November 5, according to CNN, a senior advisor to Trump revealed that they are cautiously optimistic about Trump's performance in this US election. The advisors believe that the key factor in the success or failure of the election lies in voter turnout.
A senior advisor said: "We think if all expected supporters of President Trump come out and vote, then he should win. Therefore, achieving this goal is crucial. The race is very close." The advisor emphasized that although it sounds cliché, voter turnout really is their only focus at present.
The Trump camp believes that this election cycle was his strongest performance yet, especially compared to poll results from 2016 and 2020. They cited as an example that before the 2020 general elections NBC News/Wall Street Journal's final poll showed Biden leading Trump by ten percentage points among registered voters.
However, privately Trump’s advisors and confidants admit they are uneasy about a potential issue. They believe there may be fewer “silent” Trump supporters in this election than in 2016 and 2020. A confidant of Trump stated: "What's different now is that unlike in 2016 when many people kept silent about their votes which wasn't always reflected in data; it remains unclear whether we will see similar discrepancies this time."
