US Department of Justice indicts Gotbit CEO on charges of market manipulation and conspiracy to commit fraud
the US Department of Justice has sued Aleksei Andriunin, founder and CEO of encrypted financial services company Gotbit, accusing him of committing telecommunications fraud and conspiring to manipulate the market. Aleksei Andriunin, a Russian citizen living in Portugal, was arrested on October 16. Court documents show that Gotbit provides market manipulation services, creating artificial trading volumes for multiple cryptocurrency companies (including those based in the United States) to list on CoinMarketCap. Gotbit represented clients in fake transactions worth millions of dollars and made tens of millions of dollars in profits through these fraudulent services. Andriunin transferred millions of dollars in profits from Gotbit to his personal Binance account.
