Meta and Reuters reach first AI news agreement
the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has partnered with Reuters for several years to integrate artificial intelligence chat functions into its platforms. Axios cited sources as saying that this collaboration will enable Meta's AI chatbots to extract Reuters news to answer users' questions about current events. Starting from October 25th, this feature will be launched to US users on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger through Meta's AI assistant.
Through this integration, Meta's artificial intelligence can now directly link to Reuters news articles when answering related questions. Transaction details have not been disclosed, including any licenses for training Meta's large language model (LLM) (called Llama).
