US Treasury Secretary Yellen: There is really no other currency that can compare to the US dollar
US Treasury Secretary Yellen stated that the US dollar is and will continue to be crucial as the world's primary reserve currency for the United States. The dollar's position is indeed based on our strong macroeconomic performance, low inflation, robust institutions, strong capital markets, rule of law, and very deep and liquid capital markets. There is indeed no other currency that can compare to the US dollar. We are confident in the dollar's position and will ensure that we continue on a sound fiscal path, which indeed requires reducing the deficit in the coming years and continuing to focus on keeping the real net interest cost of debt close to historical levels and below 2%, which is very important.
