Cardi B’s X account promotes WAP token. Is this a scam?
American A-list celebrity rapper Cardi B posted on X (formerly Twitter) this morning, promoting a new memecoin called “WAP,” named after her hit song with Megan Thee Stallion. However, many of her fans are questioning if the post was real or if her account had been hacked.

A few moments later, PecKShield, a blockchain security firm, issued a warning about the post and advised people to be careful about interacting with the links and wallet address shared in the post, stating that it could be tied to a scam.

But the high-quality video posted and the fact that Cardi B’s other social media accounts are still operating normally led some people to think she might be behind the promotion after all.
Moreover, this post has stayed up for more than 10 hours. Usually, when an event like this happens, the post is removed quickly, and the celebrity uses their other social media accounts to raise the alarm that they have been hacked. But as of now, Cardi B hasn’t made any statement.
Cardi B’s recent cat-related tweets have also sparked speculation that her announcement of the WAP token was pre-planned. Fans are drawing connections between her posts and the token reveal, suggesting that the timing was intentional and part of a coordinated strategy.
Even crypto investigator Wazz revealed that the wallet address shared has been linked to multiple rug scams. He also dismissed the idea that Cardi B’s X account had been hacked and suggested it was a planned work.
Meanwhile, the WAP token is gaining traction. At the time of writing, the token is trading for $0.01415, with a market cap of around $14 million, according to Dexscreener .
