Andre Cronje: Sonic will overcome some technical barriers, allowing direct on-chain access to wallet ratings
Andre Cronje, director of the Fantom Foundation and current CTO of Sonic Labs, has released an article titled "Credit Scoring, Defi and Sonic". As the launch of Sonic approaches, Andre Cronje believes it will overcome some technical barriers. Specifically: extremely low latency, reduced from 12 seconds for its fastest competitor to 700 milliseconds. The consensus in Sonic spreads as fast as information across the network and is final once disseminated; true finality allows synchronous applications for a completely different user experience and interaction; Gas subsidies eliminate the need for users to have Gas funds in their wallets, removing a common entry barrier; native account abstraction no longer requires users to store private keys but uses standard authentication methods they are familiar with, eliminating another key entry barrier; monetization of Gas provides valuable revenue streams for developers who may not necessarily want to develop financial applications; ultimately, Sonic will provide a simple scoring mechanism for any address without KYC or personal identity information - fully confidential. While any company, blockchain or dapp can use these features, Sonic will be the first natively integrated one that allows direct on-chain access to wallet scores making it the first chain enabling developers access to potential $11 trillion market.
