Zürcher Kantonalbank, one of the five safest banks in the world, announced that it has launched a Bitcoin and Ethereum service for its customers.
Zürcher Kantonalbank, described as one of the five safest banks in the world by Global Finance magazine, announced that it has launched a cryptocurrency service.
With this move, the bank allows its customers to trade and store Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
Announcing this news from its X account, the bank said, “As of today, Zürcher Kantonalbank enables the buying, selling and safe storage of Bitcoin and Ethereum.”
“As a universal bank, Zürcher Kantonalbank offers its customers all relevant financial services, including trading and storage of cryptocurrencies.
Starting September 4, 2024, Zürcher Kantonalbank customers will be able to trade cryptocurrencies around the clock directly via ZKB eBanking or ZKB Mobile Banking.
For now, Bitcoin and Ethereum will be available for trading.”
“Our newly launched offer in the field of cryptocurrencies offers a high level of security and enables the integration of other currencies and applications. Zürcher Kantonalbank takes on the critical function of safe storage of private keys when it comes to cryptocurrencies. Customers and third-party banks therefore do not need their own wallets and therefore do not have to worry about storing their own private keys,” said Alexandra Scriba, Head of Corporate Clients at Zürcher Kantonalbank.
