Through the official WeChat account of the Liyang prosecutor's office, unemployed Xiao Wu (alias) resorted to cooperating with a "money laundering company" to sell virtual currency in order to repay credit card debts. After being reviewed and prosecuted by the Liyang People's Procuratorate in accordance with the law, on July 26, 2024, Xiao Wu was sentenced to six months' imprisonment and one year's probation, and fined RMB 2,000 for the crime of concealing and concealing criminal proceeds. On December 22, 2023, the Zhongguancun Police Station of Liyang Public Security Bureau received a report from the public that they had been defrauded of RMB 3,830 by someone using the method of "brushing orders". After preliminary investigation by the public security organs, it was found that RMB 2,520 was deposited into Xiao Wu's bank card, and Xiao Wu was summoned to the police station for investigation in accordance with the law. After investigation, it was found that Xiao Wu had a total of 13 transactions in the bank account he used to help criminals launder money, totaling more than RMB 25,000, and had illegally gained more than RMB 5,000. On July 11, the Liyang People's Procuratorate prosecuted Xiao Wu for the crime of concealing and concealing criminal proceeds. On July 26, the Liyang People's Court made the above judgment.
