The official community of Toncoin (The Open Network) (TON) has released an official statement following the arrest of Telegram and TON founder Pavel Durov in France. In the statement, the community reiterated its commitment and resilience to the principles of decentralization and freedom of expression, which are the core values advocated by Durov.
After Durov's arrest, the TON price fell by approximately 20%.
“Following the recent news regarding Telegram founder Pavel Durov, we want to assure everyone that the TON community remains strong and fully operational,” the statement said.
In a show of solidarity, the community voiced its steadfast support for Durov, voicing his long-standing commitment to the causes of an open and decentralized internet. The statement continued: “Pavel has been a dedicated advocate for these values, and we believe his efforts to promote an open and decentralized internet will continue to inspire millions.”
