US telecom company Lingo Telecom fined $1 million for its role in Biden deepfake scam
According to Cointelegraph, Texas-based telecommunications company Lingo Telecom has been fined $1 million by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for participating in illegal Biden deepfake scams. The scam involved using AI-generated recordings of President Biden's voice, which were automatically dialed to spread misinformation and prevent people from voting in the New Hampshire primary.
