US State of Wisconsin Announces Another Investment in Bitcoin ETFs
The US state of Wisconsin has announced another investment in Bitcoin ETFs. Here are all the details about the development.
The Wisconsin State Investment Board announced that it has significantly increased its stake in BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust, purchasing approximately $100 million more shares in the second fiscal quarter of 2024.
According to a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the board purchased 2,898,051 shares worth approximately $98.9 million in spot BTC ETFs.
In addition to its investment in Bitcoin, the board has also expanded its portfolio in other high-profile tech and crypto assets. The latest filing reveals the purchase of 98,446 shares of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase worth about $21.9 million. The board also bought 115,084 shares of Bitcoin miner Marathon Digital worth about $2.3 million, 278,165 shares of investment app Robinhood worth over $6.3 million, and 338,977 shares of digital payments firm Block Inc worth about $21.9 million.
This marks the second consecutive quarter in which the Wisconsin State Investment Board has announced significant investments in spot Bitcoin ETFs.
