Sources close to the matter: FBI has contacted WazirX about recent security incidents
WazirX co-founder Nischal Shetty said on the recent security incident that the platform has sought help from several different Indian and international authorities, but declined to name them.WazirX has filed a complaint with the police in Mumbai and reported the incident to the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In).
WazirX declined to comment on whether being acquired by another company might be included among the options for seeking help.
Shetty said he could not disclose how much INR WazirX has on its books because it could “provide a new attack vector for miscreants.” He also noted that WazirX does not currently allow cryptocurrency withdrawals due to a lack of regulatory transparency.
