Polymarket data: The probability of Harris choosing Mark Kelly as her running mate is 36%, ranking first

PANews reported on July 30th, according to Fortune Magazine, that US Vice President Harris may announce her running mate within a week. According to Polymarket's prediction, there are currently four frontrunners.

Mark Kelly has a 36% chance of becoming Harris' running mate. Kelly is a retired astronaut from NASA who voted in May this year to overturn Statement of Accounting Bulletin No.121 (SAB-121), which critics believe hinders investment banks from providing large-scale cryptocurrency custody services.
Josh Shapiro has a 33% chance of becoming Harris' running mate. Since 2023, Shapiro has been the governor of Pennsylvania and was previously the state's attorney general; In March this year, Shapiro and Bitcoin miner Stronghold Digital Mining were sued by environmental organization Save Carbon County for allegedly promoting local pollution through tax exemptions for miners and lack of regulation over their activities.
Tim Walz has a 17% chance of being chosen as Harris' running mate. Walz is the governor of Minnesota and served as U.S representative for Minnesota’s first district from 2007 to 2019. He never publicly discussed cryptocurrencies during his tenure in Congress which predates major legislation in the industry so it's hard to determine his stance on digital assets.
Pete Buttigieg stands at a possibility rate of only seven percent but he is also considered as one potential candidate for VP Harris’ partner position. Currently serving as Secretary Of Transportation under Biden administration, Buttigieg once stated during his campaign period back in Democratic nomination race that Bitcoin should be “treated like commodities”, implying SEC shouldn’t regulate such currency.
