CrowdStrike: Root cause analysis is underway to determine how the breach occurred
CrowdStrike stated that it is investigating how the (global chaos-causing) issue occurred and is conducting a thorough analysis of the root cause to determine how the logical loophole occurred. The company stated: "We are committed to identifying any improvements in our processes, whether foundational or workflow-related, to strengthen our processes. As the investigation progresses, the results of the root cause analysis will be updated. Systems that are currently unaffected will continue to operate as expected, and there will be no risk of such events occurring in the future." CEO George Kurtz posted on social media that the company has written a technical overview of the incident and will continue to work with customers and partners to resolve the issue.
