Aave DAO and MakerDAO at odds over profit-sharing agreement
It was reported that MakerDAO's lending protocol Spark (a branch of Aave v3) was accused of violating its agreement with Aave DAO. According to representative Marc Zeller, in February 2023, Phoenix Labs, the company behind Spark, proposed to share 10% of the protocol's profits over a two-year period as a thank you for using Aave's code. This proposal was estimated to result in Spark paying a total of $2 million to Aave. However, Zeller claims that Spark did not fulfill its obligations under the agreement, stating, "Due to some creative accounting by MakerDAO, the actual revenue sharing is closer to 1%."
