Kraken Australia Crypto Report: Preferring SOL to ETH
On July 9th, cryptocurrency trading platform Kraken announced that it had analyzed millions of Australian wallets, revealing changing trends in user trading behavior and asset preferences in the region.
The analysis showed that Bitcoin is still the most actively traded cryptocurrency among Australian users, accounting for 27% of all transactions in the country from May 2023 to May 2024, slightly higher than the global average of 26%. SOL also received attention, accounting for 10% of the trading volume, compared to the global average of 7.8%. ETH ranked third, accounting for 9.6% of Australian customer trading volume, slightly lower than the global proportion of 9.9%.
According to recent analysis by website Finder, the country's preference for digital assets remains high. Of the 26 million population, 17.7% own cryptocurrency, far higher than the global average of 11.4%.
