As major cryptos rebound following Monday’s Bitcoin-led rout, investors are wondering which might be the best crypto to buy today to take advantage of the market’s latest dip.
Bitcoin (BTC) was last in the $61,000s, as traders mull the prospect of Mt Gox creditor repayments commencing in July .
That’s up sharply from Monday’s $58,500ish lows, with BTC up around 1.75% in the past 24 hours, per CoinMarketCap .
Some traders have been arguing that Mt Gox repayments won’t result in as much sell pressure as the market fears.
That might suggest a Bitcoin-led market rebound is on the horizon.
But others have surmised that Bitcoin’s struggles could be related to liquidity tightening behind the scenes.
That might suggest that Bitcoin may struggle in the low-$60,000s, or upper $50,000s for some time.
The low probability of near-term upside for Bitcoin suggests it might not be the best crypto to buy right now.
Of course, the opposite is true for many longer-term investors, who will view the market’s latest dip as a great opportunity to accumulate.
Could Ethereum Be the Best Crypto to Buy Now?
Perhaps the market’s next leg up could come courtesy of Ethereum (ETH) . VanEck filed an 8-A form for its spot Ethereum ETF on Tuesday. And the form suggested that ETFs could go live as soon as 2nd July.
But some analysts think the Ethereum ETF launch could underwhelm. That’s the view of analysts at Bernstein, anyway, who think the lack of ETH staking will deter some investors.
Bernstein adds that Ether and other cryptos need a better regulatory regime. But they think this will come as the US election approaches, with the very pro-crypto Republicans looking likely to win.
In the meantime, ETH is stuck just under $3,400, down close to 15% from May’s highs near-$3,400.

Brett’s momentum has been impressive in recent weeks, defying the market’s broader struggles.
The meme coin still only has a market cap of roughly $1.6 billion, suggesting plenty of room for growth this bull market.

Dogwifhat (WIF)
Whilst its not looking quite as strong as BRETT, Solana meme coin darling WIF is also performing well on Tuesday.
As per CoinMarketCap , it was last up around 22% in the past 24 hours.
WIF was last around $2.0, up an impressive 35% from Monday’s sub $1.50 lows. But it is still down close to 60% from earlier yearly highs.
But for those who are still strong believers of the Solana meme coin revolution, a huge trend in early 2024, WIF could be at very attractive levels to buy the dip.
WIF’s market cap is currently $2 billion. Like Brett, that’s small compared to the big meme coins like Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB).
That suggests there remains plenty of room for growth, making WIF potentially the best crypto to buy now.
Pepe (PEPE)
Having included a Base and Solana meme coin, it seems fitting to also include a strong-performing Ethereum meme coin on this list.
Indeed, Pepe (PEPE) was last up around 18% in the past 24 hours, as per CoinMarketCap .
Pepe’s push higher comes with the meme coin having recently broken to the north of a downtrend.
