ZachXBT exposes TrumpCoin creator as ‘Pharma Bro’ Martin Shkreli
The real identity of the TrumpCoin (DJT) deployer is Martin Shkreli, sentenced in 2018 to seven years in prison for committing securities fraud and securities fraud conspiracy, as revealed yesterday by blockchain sleuth ZachXBT. As reported by Crypto Briefing, the DJT token was attributed to US presidential candidate Donald Trump.
On-chain data platform Arkham Intelligence offered a $150,000 bounty yesterday to anyone willing to reveal the real identity of the DJT deployer. Less than 10 minutes later, ZachXBT answered the publication, saying that he had already submitted information to earn the bounty.
Following that interaction, Shkreli messaged the on-chain sleuth saying that he had “over 1,000 pieces of evidence” revealing that he created it with Barron Trump, son of the US presidential candidate. Additionally, Shkreli conducted an X Spaces to publicly say he’s the creator of the DJT token.
Notably, ZachXBT revealed that the pump caused by the rumor about the DJT being created by Donald Trump himself was used by insiders to dump $832,000 of the token. “Coincidentally also a large holder on Martin’s other project Shoggoth,” he added.
Moreover, an insider identified as CWR was also flagged by ZachXBT. CWR, whose real name is Cameron Roxborough, was the administrator of DJT’s Telegram group and is also an active user on Martin Shkrehli’s Discord server. At the time of ZachXBT’s publication, Roxborough had left both servers.
Shkreli has been on parole since he left prison in 2022, a fact highlighted by Adam Cochran on X. According to Cochran, Shkreli’s 3-year parole terms require him to give full financial statements, and to avoid “any self-employment involving access to client money or investments.”
“So either he goes to jail for fraud, or he managed an investment opportunity on behalf of Barron and goes to jail for violating terms of parole. But most importantly, do you think he includes his offshore Kucoin account (which he funded this coin with) on his financial reports to the courts?”, added Cochran.
