On June 4th, Japanese Finance Minister Taro Aso stated that they will "thoroughly prevent" any future incidents of unauthorized outflow of cryptocurrency from DMM Bitcoin. According to the head of the Japanese Financial Services Agency, they have already requested a report from DMM Bitcoin under the "Settlement Act" to investigate the cause of the incident and provide compensation to affected customers.

On May 31st, it was reported that approximately $30 million worth of Bitcoin was stolen from DMM Bitcoin's wallet, and the platform has since implemented restrictions on some of its services.
