Russian media: Telegram will launch internal currency Telegram Stars
It was reported by the Russian portal Rozetked that Telegram will launch a new internal currency called Telegram Stars starting from June 12. Users can purchase it through Apple and Google and use it to pay for digital goods and services within Telegram bots/mini-programs. Many developers have reported receiving notifications about the token launch, and Telegram's marketing channel has also drawn attention to this. The message states that Apple has warned Telegram for violating application review rules 4.7 and 3.1.1 by accepting payments and services from customers without using Apple's internal purchasing mechanism. Users will be able to purchase Stars through shopping tools in the App Store and Google Play, and may be charged a 30% service commission. Developers will be able to extract the token in TON.
