Microsoft Releases Multiple AI Product Updates at Dawn, Ultraman Teases New OpenAI Model
PANews reported on May 22 that the Microsoft Build 2024 Developer Conference was held in Seattle, USA, in the early hours of May 22. The tech giant announced over 50 updates, ranging from AI infrastructure development to the implementation of model products. Noteworthy highlights include: Team Copilot, transforming personal intelligent assistants into team assistants; Microsoft Fabric, providing real-time intelligent SaaS solutions; Azure AI, introducing new cutting-edge models and multimodal capabilities; and the Cobalt chip, an update to their self-developed AI chip. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella opened the event by discussing two of Microsoft's dreams for computing: "First, to make computers understand us, rather than us understanding computers; second, in a world of increasing information, to help us reason, plan, and act effectively based on that information."
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman teased OpenAI's new model at the conference, stating that new modalities and overall intelligence will be key to OpenAI's next model. He mentioned that the model will become smarter, more powerful, and safer, and that GPT-4o will be faster and more cost-effective. Altman noted that the industry has not experienced a platform shift for some time, but it is currently undergoing such a period. He advised developers to take advantage of this moment, "Now is not the time to delay plans or wait for the next opportunity. This is a special moment, and in the coming years, many things will happen, and many great new things will begin to emerge."
