Atomicals Protocol: ARC20 Partial Token Coloring Protocol Upgrade Scheduled for June 18
PANews reported on May 21 that the Bitcoin ecosystem project Atomicals Protocol announced on the X platform that the ARC20 partial token coloring protocol upgrade is scheduled for block height 847,000 (around June 18, 2024). All developers and services are now preparing to test the node upgrade. If developers need more time, the activation block height can be postponed by another 4 weeks (around July 15, 2024) approximately 8 weeks later.
Previously, on April 8, Atomicals Protocol announced that the Beta version of its ARC20 token splitting solution had entered the testing phase. This splitting solution allows for the sending of tokens as small as 1 unit and overcomes the Bitcoin dust limit while maintaining the key property that all tokens are backed by Satoshis. In this splitting solution, there is no need to re-"materialize" Satoshis; instead, it is achieved by allowing partial coloring of UTXOs. This means that tokens are still backed by at least one Satoshi, but it also allows multiple Satoshis to "materialize" one token.
