Cryptocurrency industry political donations have reached $94 million since 2023, exceeding the previous U.S. presidential election cycle
Since 2023, donors in the cryptocurrency industry have donated $94 million to the Federal Political Committee, surpassing the $83 million donated in the previous election cycle to support their allies in Congress. According to data from OpenSecrets, some of the largest political donors in the United States include supporters of the cryptocurrency industry. For example, Jeffrey Yass of Susquehanna International Group has donated $70 million, and Fairshake and its two affiliated super political action committees (Defend American Jobs and Protect Progress) have collectively raised $85 million. It is worth noting that Bloomberg's report adjusted the total amount raised by Fairshake, removing the duplicate calculation of physical donations in cryptocurrency form and their conversion into US dollars.
