Solana-Based Ambient Closes $2 Million Seed Round, Plans to Go Live on Solana Beta in Summer
Ambient, a Solana-based decentralized environmental data network project, has reportedly announced the closing of a $2 million seed round led by Borderless Capital with participation from Solana Ventures, Parami Investors, Sonic Boom Ventures, Primal Capital, and led by Borderless Capital.
Founded in January, Ambient acquired PlanetWatch, an Algorand-based environmental data program, in March and decided to migrate to Solana, where it plans to go live on the Solana beta site this summer and then launch its own token to incentivize users to contribute data.
Currently, Ambient has more than 25,000 sensors deployed in more than 20 countries around the world, collecting data every five minutes and generating more than 10.7 billion data streams.
