Snowden criticizes Bitcoin’s lack of privacy and points to the urgency of protocol-level solutions
Golden Finance reported that after the United States stepped up its crackdown on privacy-oriented software and Zksnacks shut down its coordinated coinjoin service, Edward Snowden, a whistleblower and former contractor of the National Security Agency, issued a stern warning to Bitcoin developers. He stressed that time is running out to strengthen privacy and insisted that it must be integrated at the protocol level. Previously, Snowden had praised the privacy-focused cryptocurrency zcash (ZEC).
