Optimism to introduce review process during fourth round of retroactive public goods funding
Optimism announced on X platform that Deliberative Processes will be applied to Retro Public Funding Round 4. During this round, a new governance experiment called "Deliberative Processes" will be introduced. Optimism Governance has taken an iterative approach towards open meta-governance by transferring most of the governance responsibilities from the Optimism Foundation to the Optimism Collective, making the Foundation one of many contributors proposing system changes. The Deliberative Processes will help Optimism involve a representative group of ordinary people or users in governance decision-making and provide space for thoughtful discussions. Some assumptions will be tested in each round, and the results will guide the design of future rounds and/or other parts of the governance system.
