Apple is in talks with OpenAI and Google to bring AI features to iOS 18
According to informed sources, Apple has restarted negotiations with OpenAI and plans to use the technology of this startup to support some new features of the iPhone that will be launched later this year. The two companies have begun discussions on the terms of a possible agreement and how OpenAI's features will be integrated into Apple's next-generation iPhone operating system, iOS 18. This move marks the restart of dialogue between the two companies. Earlier this year, Apple had negotiations with OpenAI over a deal, but since then, the cooperation between the two sides has been rare. At the same time, Apple is reportedly also negotiating with Google, owned by Alphabet Inc., on the authorization to use its Gemini chatbot. Given this, it is not difficult to see that Apple has not yet made a final decision on which company to cooperate with and cannot guarantee that an agreement will be reached. The company may eventually reach agreements with both OpenAI and Google, or choose another supplier entirely. Earlier this year, there were also reports that Apple was discussing with the artificial intelligence startup Anthropic. (Finance Associated Press)
