Stripe resumes accepting cryptocurrency payments after six-year hiatus
Fintech giant Stripe has announced its return to the cryptocurrency market. The company announced on Thursday that it will begin allowing customers to accept cryptocurrency payments, starting with support for the USDC stablecoin and only using Solana, Ethereum, and Polygon. This is reportedly the first time Stripe has accepted cryptocurrency payments since 2018, when the company abandoned support due to high Bitcoin price volatility.
