CoinGecko: 5,300 new tokens launched daily so far this year

On April 12th, according to Coingecko's statistics, an average of 5,300 new cryptocurrency tokens have been created every day since 2024. As of early April, over 540,000 new tokens have been created this year, which is more than half of last year's total of 830,000 new tokens. In comparison, there were relatively few new tokens issued in 2022, at 710,000.

In late February of this year, the Memecoin season returned, and the number of new tokens issued in March 2024 soared to a record high of 195,735. There were also a large number of new tokens issued in January 2024, at 134,647.
