Chainalysis Hires Former IRS-CI Chief Jim Lee to Help Regulators Fight Crypto Crime
Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis has appointed Jim Lee, former chief of the Internal Revenue Service’s Criminal Investigations (IRS-CI) unit, to the newly-created role of Global Head of Capacity Building. Lee will work with regulators, law enforcement, tax agencies and financial institutions to advise them on how to use Chainalysis’ data and tools to fight crypto crime. During his time at the IRS, Lee helped to shut down darknet marketplaces Hydra and Welcome to Video, and seized crypto from Hamas. Chainalysis also played a role in each of these cases.
