Forbes Global Billionaires List: 17 people in the crypto industry have a combined wealth of $93 billion
Forbes released its 2024 global billionaire list, which includes 17 individuals from the cryptocurrency field. These investors and entrepreneurs hold an estimated total value of $93 billion in cryptocurrency assets, publicly disclosed stock portfolios, and private wealth. This is more than double the total wealth ($37 billion) of the 9 cryptocurrency billionaires who made the list last year. Binance founder and former CEO, Changpeng Zhao, has become the richest person in the cryptocurrency industry for the third consecutive year, with an estimated net worth of $33 billion, up from $10.5 billion last year. Zhao is ranked 50th on the global billionaire list. Other notable individuals on the list include Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong ($11.2 billion) and MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor ($4.4 billion).
