Analysis: BlackRock ETF Bitcoin holdings may exceed Grayscale GBTC within 3 weeks
On March 25th, according to analysis by Cointelegraph, assuming there is no drastic change in current fund flows, the amount of Bitcoin in BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF may surpass Grayscale's GBTC in the next three weeks. As of March 22nd, BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF held 238,500 Bitcoins on its books (valued at $15.5 billion at current prices), with a daily inflow of approximately $274 million (or about 4,120 new Bitcoins entering the fund each day). Meanwhile, Grayscale's Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) reported that it still holds approximately 350,252 BTC (valued at $23 billion at current prices), with an average daily outflow of approximately $277 million over the past two weeks, or about 4,140 Bitcoins leaving the trust each day. Assuming there is no drastic change in inflow and outflow rates, BlackRock's total Bitcoin holdings may surpass Grayscale's by April 11th. If BlackRock's inflow rate returns to the daily average of 7,200 BTC from the previous week, this date could be even closer, meaning that BlackRock's ETF may surpass Grayscale's GBTC holdings within 10 days.
