zkSync Era sequencer cost reduced by approximately 88% after Dencun upgrade
L2BEAT researcher donnoh.eth disclosed data showing that before using Blob, the cost of zkSync Era sequencer using Calldata was around 0.115 ETH, while after using Blob, the cost dropped to around 0.013 ETH, a decrease of about 88%.
Currently, zkSync Era is the first L2 to use Blob, and Starknet has also supported it. More projects will follow in the coming days.
Note from BlockBeats: With the completion of Ethereum's Dencun upgrade and the L2 network version updates supporting EIP-4844, the transition from using the expensive "calldata" method to sending data to Ethereum using the more cost-effective "blobs" transaction type will significantly reduce costs.
