Runestone is up for auction
Developer Leonidas of Ordinals has announced that Runestone will soon be auctioned off. Currently, the highest bid for Runestone 63,140,674 on Ord City is 0.26 BTC, equivalent to approximately $17,261.61 USD. Leonidas stated that all proceeds from this auction will be used to pay for Bitcoin network fees related to the Runestone airdrop and donated to Bitcoin miners. Additionally, Leonidas added that the Runes protocol will go live on Bitcoin L1's 840,000th block, with the halving expected to occur around April 20, 2024.
