TBC and Riot Platforms win in Bitcoin mining data investigation case
The Western District Court of Texas has issued an order favorable to the plaintiff, Riot Platforms, and the Texas Blockchain Council (TBC), opposing the Department of Energy (DOE) and other defendants. By questioning the emergency data collection of the EIA-862 form, the plaintiff emphasized the key balance between regulatory objectives and the confidentiality of blockchain business operations. According to Judge Alan Albright's order, the agreement reached by both parties means that the disputed data collection work will be formally stopped. In addition, any data previously collected under the program will be destroyed to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of information related to Bitcoin mining operations. Albright's ruling includes instructions for administrative closure, reflecting a comprehensive resolution achieved through the agreement.
