Riot Platforms, a Bitcoin mining company, has purchased 31,500 Whatsminer machines from MicroBT for $97.4 million. This purchase will increase the company's self-mining computing power at its Rockdale, Texas mining facility from 12.4 EH/s to 15.1 EH/s by the end of July.In December of last year, Riot revealed that it had spent $290.5 million to purchase 66,000 mining machines and indicated that it may buy an additional 265,000 MicroBT machines under the same terms, which would eventually help increase its computing power to over 100 EH/s.
