British National Crime Agency: LockBit, the world’s largest cybercrime organization, has been dismantled
According to Golden Finance News, on Tuesday, February 20, the UK's National Crime Agency (NCA) released detailed information about the international disruption of the world's largest cybercrime organization, LockBit. The NCA stated that they have currently taken control of multiple services of LockBit and dismantled the entire criminal gang. The organization had previously provided ransomware-as-a-service to global hackers and "affiliate" networks, providing them with the tools and infrastructure needed to carry out attacks. During this time, LockBit ransomware attacks targeted thousands of victims globally, including in the UK, causing billions of pounds, dollars, and euros in losses.
