CKB co-founder Cipher proposed the RGB extension protocol RGB++ to create a BTC smart contract layer based on CKB
on February 13th, Cipher, the co-founder of CKB and CEO of Cell Studio, released the RGB++ protocol white paper today. According to the white paper, RGB++ is an extension protocol based on RGB, which uses one-time sealing strips and client verification technology to manage state changes and transaction verification. It maps Bitcoin UTXO to Nervos CKB's Cell through isomorphic binding, and uses script constraints on CKB chain and Bitcoin chain to verify the correctness of state calculation and the validity of change of ownership. RGB++ inherits the core idea of the RGB protocol, adopts different virtual machines and verification schemes, and users do not need an independent RGB++ client, but only need to access Bitcoin and CKB light nodes to complete all verifications independently. RGB++ brings Turing-complete contract extension and tens of times performance extension to BTC. It does not use any cross-chain bridges, but uses native client verification schemes to ensure security and anti-censorship.
It is reported that in the future, RGB++ will also cooperate with CKB's layer 2 lightning network to greatly expand the BTC ecological network.
