BlackRock files with SEC to project spot Bitcoin ETF ads onto buildings in multiple cities
In a filing submitted to the SEC on January 31, BlackRock proposed an activity to project advertisements for its spot Bitcoin ETF onto buildings. The filing briefly described BlackRock's plan and noted that the IBIT signal is an animation intended to be projected onto the exterior walls of financial institutions in front of New York City, Miami, and Los Angeles. This storyboard uses our Miami appearance as a template. The forecast includes "IBIT" for most of its operating time, referring to the stock code for BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin ETF (IBIT).
Each image displays a timeline of events leading up to BlackRock's launch of its spot Bitcoin ETF in January of this year. Some images describe the launch of the first US stock market in 1790, the first US ETF in 1993, the launch of Bitcoin in 2009, and the first Bitcoin futures contract in 2017. Other scenes read "access to a new era" and "spot Bitcoin ETF is here."
